It may not be pretty but this is the modified TEK irpen that we have used for making a plasma screen interactive. The reasoning behind this came from having to put a wiimote in a year one classroom and the projector giving an image that kids would be too short for. So with a slight

As much as it pains me to have to boot into my windows virtual machine (feel the mac snob coming out in me there) Stu’s Double Jeopardy makes me do just that. While I have made up Jeopardy games before in Powerpoint and lately in Smart’s Notebook this is so easy and looks so good.

While the KKC and MMC Maths and Science classes have been indulging in echalk resources for some time now, they have recently released resources on History. With particular interest to me were the tudor and stuart resources for yr 13 History and as we already have a license I can get straight into it. So

Clasus is a Portuguese company that sell Interactive Whiteboards that look like Promethean IWBs, act like Promethean IWBs and are Promethean IWBs under a different name (allegedly). Screenflex (no web site as yet) are the Irish company attempting to sell these boards for, in their words, “about a grand and a half less than Promethean.”

Hi Richard,
Thanks for the link to the comparison. It was worth watching. We have been operating the Wii system at Selwyn Ridge in a couple of classrooms for the last couple of terms. We feel that we are still developing a good picture of the positives and minus of interactive boards and would enjoy hearing how others are actually using the technology to enhance learning. We have also come up with a much simpler pen (although construction your own is fun), using already on the market LED torches.
I will be interested to see how you go with your wii board.

Hi Marcus
I will let you know how we go withe the wiimote board. We have 12 Smartboards here already but can’t relly justify any more where as this seems like a realistic option for some of the other staff that would like some of the functionality.

Hi,
I think it’s worth trying out Smoothboard where BoonJin has modified Johnny Lee’s idea to a more user-friendly wiimote whiteboard, featuring annotation features and autoconnect mode.
